Having the proper flooring insulation would save a lot of energy and the right floors are crucial in data centers as the optimal operation of the equipment depends a lot on the design of the flooring system and the proper type of insulation plays a critical part. Servers and other equipment emit a lot of heat and when not dissipated properly, it will shorten the life of the hardware. Aside from this, the cooling load will also increase together with the fire risk. Revitalizing the floor through proper air distribution underneath together with adequate insulation limits the influx of heat coming in from the outside. It greatly helps in reducing the energy requirement to keep the whole system running efficiently 24/7. Temperature control is important in data facilities and the typical solution of just adding more cooling units to the area when the equipment are running hotter than usual is not the solution to the issue. The use of the right insulation material, proper installation and design would be the key instead.
