Mechanical Insulation

Pertains to the insulation of the mechanical piping system and equipment-Hot & cold, boilers, HVAC and ductwork

Mechanical insulation is used to insulate processes and equipment in contrast with those in the building envelope which is focus more on walls, floors and roofs.

It is separated into two divisions one is the commercial segment while the other one is the industrial sector. Commercial encompasses office buildings, hospitals, schools, light to moderate manufacturing while industrial pertains to petrochemical, gas, powerplants, refineries and the likes.

Main benefits in insulating mechanical systems are the control and maintenance of process temperatures, personnel protection, increase the capability and longevity of equipment, minimize moisture and eliminate various types of noise in machines, ducts and pipes. Allowing the whole system to run smoothly while lessening the risk of corrosion and expensive repairs. In short, investing in mechanical insulation provides long-term value in terms of energy efficiency and cost savings
