Why sandblasted surface is better than regular finished ?

Surface finished in acoustic ceiling boards matter in terms of performance. A rough, sandblasted texture would allow better sound absorption and cause the sound waves to scatter as it hits the surface material thus improving echo control and delivering better acoustic performance. It is especially crucial for mid to high- frequency sounds like those found in office environments, classrooms and call centers allowing better speech clarity, noise reduction and speech consonants to be more impactful.
